Summary: All he needs is a little incentive...
"Oh, come on, McKay! You're not even trying to keep up!"
"Need I remind you that I recently had surgery on this knee?" Rodney panted.
"No," Aiden replied. "I got the message the first three times you said it. Now move your sorry ass!" They were in a deserted area of the city and there wasn't another living soul within a quarter mile so he didn't bother trying to spare Rodney's ego.
"What's the point of this? If I keep running I'm only going to injure it again!"
"The point is to rehab the knee so you won't injure it again. Now come on!"
"But it hurts to run!"
"That's because your knee is weak, Rodney," Aiden said patiently. "You have to strengthen it."
"So I have to hurt my knee in order to strengthen it so it won't hurt? The logic of that eludes me."
"Too bad; move your ass!"
"You know, I think you missed your calling. You might have made an excellent drill sergeant."
"I prefer weapons and tactics," Aiden said as he jogged on ahead of his weary companion. He stopped and turned around, a wicked smile on his face. "Come on, doc, see if you can catch me."
"I don't want to catch you!"
"Liar!" Aiden said tauntingly. "You know you do."
"True enough," Rodney admitted.
"So try and catch me!" Aiden called as he drew back a few more yards. "Come on!"
"You heard me; I need incentive," Rodney replied recklessly.
"All right, I'll play along. What kind of incentive?"
"Well, what would you be willing to give me if I catch you?"
"You aren't going to catch me, Rodney."
"I might, if the incentive was strong enough," he said.
"Not in this lifetime," Aiden replied. "But I tell you what. I'll give a reward if you can just make it to the next transporter."
"Come on, Rodney!"
"You haven't named a reward."
"What do you want?" Aiden sighed.
"I want to see you naked."
"...But I'd settle for something else," Rodney added hastily.
"Good, because you'd have to do a hell of a lot more than run a hundred yards to see my ass."
"Would you just get your butt in gear!"
"A little wine, sweet talk? Name your price," Rodney said boldly.
"Oh, we're back to that again," Aiden said.
"Yes, we're 'back to that again.' We've been 'back to that again' for more than a month now."
"Rodney, your knee is going to get stiff."
"Tell me you're not interested and I'll never bring it up again."
"We can discuss this later."
"One question: yes or no."
"Yes or no what?"
"Yes or no."
"Yes or no."
"All right; yes. But that doesn't mean you can see me naked." He began to back up slowly. "Come on."
"We'll work up to it," Rodney replied happily. "I'm content just knowing you want me."
"Hey, I didn't say all that."
"No, but the fact that you've been my constant and sometimes sole companion over the last six weeks does."
"I felt sorry for you," Aiden said evasively. "No one else was willing to put up with you."
"Admit it; you like me."
"Hey, I like everybody! I'm a nice guy," Aiden said, backing further away. Rodney smiled and pushed off the wall. He stretched his knee a bit and began to jog. Each time he drew closer, Aiden backed off a bit more. Rodney wasn't even aware of the fact that he'd run at least thirty feet beyond the transporter.
"So what do I get if I catch you?" Rodney asked, pausing and bending over to flex his knee.
"You are not seeing me naked."
"How about a kiss, then?"
"Sure," Aiden said confidently. He began to back away slowly and Rodney began to run.
"Gotcha," Rodney said smugly as he suddenly picked up speed. Aiden took a step backward.
"You said that already."
"Very--." Aiden's back hit a wall. "Funny." He swallowed hard as Rodney leaned in to claim his prize.
On to Damn!
