I came by this story on linkage accident thru CM and I've read it three times, however I am angry with you because I went looking for more stories and apparently Hawkes with Flack is barely there, hell Hawkes with anybody is barely there as I've only found two writers (including you) that wrote this pairing but the second one in the long sequel changed it to Danny/Don which disappointed me. I guess canon "married with children to Linsday" Danny is the fandom bicycle...

I don't get it, I thought Hawkes or Flack would be a better option.

This is something you made me think about about how fandom or doesn't writes slashing interracial pairings in fandom with minimal minorities bordering on tokenism in canon TV shows.

Just looking at CBS shows: CSI's, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, The Mentalist, Numbers...

I've been wanting to write more Hawkes/Flack--and I intend to, but I haven't gotten around to it. I love the pairing, even though I've written only a few pieces: Crossed Jurisdictions, In the Scientific Interest, and a couple of short pieces such as A Helping Hand, and a couple of pieces in "anthologies"--here and here. I actually started a sequel to Crossed Jurisdictions but never got very far into it because while I had a great premise, I was kind of short on plot. It's been a while since I thought about that story. I really should get back to it. I heartily agree that the world needs more Hawkes/Flack.

If you look at my work, you will note that almost all of my pairings are interracial, when I find a viable pairing. As a person of color, I look for opportunities to write stories that feature people of color and I share your frustration that few have picked up on the Hawkes/Flack love. (Don't even get me started on that "other fic" you mentioned.) I'm rather bummed about the dearth of diversity in most fanfiction where there are clearly opportunities for it. Criminal Minds is the only fandom where you will see an interracial pairing fairly regularly and that's only because it's practically canon. Anyway, don't be angry with me. I promise to write more Hawkes/Flack. Mulling over your comment made me think about my aborted storyline and I'm inspired to dig it out and finish it.
